The early processing workload of numerical control press was to compile the processing codes, and compiling NC codes leaned on technicians' handwork mainly. Before to compile the codes, the technicians must do numerous works, such as the calculation of the coordinate, and even, the NC codes couldn't be imitated before applied to practice. Therefore, the waste of processing material and the accident that tool rushed to spoil the material clamp, caused by the mistakes of NC codes, were unavoidable. Based on the specific situation of the Factory of Electrical Control Equipment of Shanxi, and combined the existing condition of system develops, this article presents the topic -"Study and Development of the Automatic Programming and Simulation System for Numerical Control Press Based on VisualLISP".Firstly, based on analyzing the present develop situation and the research situation of the domestic and international automatic programming system of numerical control press, this article established the modular structural model of the automatic programming system of numerical control press. This model adopted the modular structure of stratified design, and the system realized the combination by call function. This model fully shows the system feature of the automatic programming system of numerical control, and made a foundation stone for developing whole system.The major functions of this automatic programming system include gathering the graph data, choosing the processing mould automatically, the optimization of processing route and generating the NC codes. The gathering of graph datas concerned mainly with gathering the graph information about circle and polyline in AutoCAD. The option of mould based on establishment of the mould storehouse, and this system used text files to establish punch mould storehouse. Then the article gave birth to the method of auto choosing the circular and the rectangle mould. After comparing the various method of route optimizations, the system adopted the method of count the shortest route as the major optimization method. Subsequently, the article researched the counting of the punch pace and the export method of NC codes.The article made the overall structure of the simulation modular of the automatic programming system of numerical control press, and put forward a method of the two-dimension dynamic simulation on AutoCAD. Then, The article presented some methods to solve the crucial technical problems of NC codes translation. The working interface of the automatic programming system of numerical control press was completed by VisualLISP. The article explained the development course of the menu files and DCL files of the automatic programming system of numerical control press in detail, and finally realized the drive of DCL dialogue frames and the optimization of the drive program.Through running the system program on the practical processing drawing, the ar ticle proved that this automatic programming system is practical and efficient.
