This paper take Angang 1780 cold rolling tandem mill housing for example, analyzed the quality properties of the mill housing by SolidWorks3D drawing software and then calculated modulus ,feeding distance, riser size parameters ,external chills size and numbers and runner system for every parts of the casting by Volclay GTA casting process Software, simulated above casting process scheme by Huazhu CAE of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. At last by the view of the simulating result improve the casting process scheme, the results is as follows:(1) Introduced the SOLIDWORKS 3D drawing software, after making mould for the casting product can accuratly caculate the parameters such as weight, 3D data is the premise of the numerical simulation, it pay the way for the producing of the large-sized complex casting product.(2) Introduced the GTA casting process software, It saved many time of the process design time. This software optimized the process parameters, reduced the unnecessary waste.(3) By using of the insulated riser and covered agent from the VOLCLAY commany, the rate of the process coming out is increasing, not only saved the producing cost but also increased the producing ability of the company (output and substance)(4) The produced results certified the results of numerical simulation to the casting process by Huazhu CAE software is approach to the fact, paid the way to make big casting product.
