The5500mm generous plate mill is reversible rolling mill, itconstitutes double frame and four roller, the vertical roll mill install after the roughingmill. Because the mill housing,mill roll,crane,raw materials of the5500mm is thebiggest at the moment. So it always called The King Mill. The mill housing is themost important parts of the rolling mill, its properties will affects the precision ofrolling control system, the quality of strip product and the working life directly. Inorder to improve the rigidity and strength of mill housing, as well as bring theproperty of materials into full play, this thesis proceeds the embedded theoreticalanalysis and optimization design to the frame, which are based on through analysis ofresearches. To provide a lot of references and theoretical basis for the future design,equipment modification and maintenance. The main contents are following:First of all,to check the intensity and rigidity of the5500mm mill housing with theanalytic method.Set up the three-dimensional finite element model of the mill housing. According tothe finite element analysis software ANSYS as analysis tool, proceeding the frame’sfinite element simulation. With the maximum rolling force is loaded on the frames asthe typical representative. Checking the intensity and rigidity, and analysis thedistribution of the frame’s stress and deformation and find the weakest position.In the next place, simplify the mill housing’s model. With the finite element theoryand the APDL conduct the parametric modeling to the model in the ANSYS. Usingthe longitudinal maximum displacement from the simulation in the ANSYS as theconstraint condition, then conduct the mill housing’s optimization design. Lastconfirm the main geometry and get the best design scheme.Last, there process the model analysis to the5500mm mill housing on the basis ofthe finite element model in the ANSYS. It calculates the20thorder natural frequencybefore and after optimization of the single frame, and describe all vibration modes. Itwill find out the inherent frequency that influence the rolling slab quality.This paper’s analysis results have certain realistic significance about paying closeattention to the operating condition of the mill housing.
