Camshaft is one of the five most important components of engine. It controls the valves to open and close timing to ensure the correct engine port timing. As a result, fresh gas mixture cloud enter the cylinder and exhaust gases the cylinder leave in time.The structural design and processing quality of the Camshaft will directly impact on the performance of the engine. The traditional optical and mechanical measurement device and artificial data processing methods haven't efficiently and accurately met the camshaft design requirements in aspects such as accurately and efficiently measuring camshaft, data assessment and processing, sharply feeding back camshaft quality informations.With the rapid development of the automobile industry and the continuous improvement of manufacturing technology, the precision of camshaft measuring must be matched high efficient, integrated and automatic measuring instrument , and has speedly data processing, output and print function. Nowadays, there are many companies have the Gear Measuring Centre which has the structural features of universal measuring. In that,as long as Gear Measuring Centre is fixed camshaft measuring software, which could expand the Gear Measuring Centre applying scope and fully using resource. Therefore, it is a great significance to study achievement of the camshaft measuring methods and technologies based on the Gear Measuring Center.In this paper, we have studied the measuring methods of camshaft based on Gear Measuring Center. And base on which, we have developed a set of software system about camshaft measuring and date processing in Gear Measuring Center. The software which using the current popular C++ language in the Windows environment is developed. The software includes Software includes control modules, parametric modeling module, the measurement and control modules, data analysis and processing modules and showing measurement results modules. The software can be based on the input camshaft parameters to achieve the camshaft parameters of the mathematical modeling,in order to obtain the detetion of the geometric information and the realization of camshaft automatic measuring the measuring results can be analyzed to evaluate and display the error, speed and acceleration curve.Prepareing with the similar measuring products of the camshaft experiment proved that the accuracy of measuring methods in this paper, as well as the reliability and feasibility of software. Using this measuring software system which researched in this paper will be to complete automatic measuring of camshaft in 3906 Gear Measuring Center .
