Spiral bevel gear and hypoid gear (hereinafter referred to bevel gear) is the reducer's key component of rear axle of car. Because the bevel gear's transmission is steady, the noise is small, the bearing capacity is high which is applied in automobile, tractor, aviation, navigation and each kind of precision machine tool widely. The bevel gear pair takes one kind of partial contact gear, its meshing quality is very important. Because of the instability of domestic materials and heat treatment process can not be fully clearance, the bevel gear after heat treatment deformation of the correction and improving the quality of the meching focus on the grinding and lapping teeth. Lapping tooth is an important process of manufacturing high-quality gear bevel. It can improve the bevel gear tooth surface's finish and the quality of contact largely so that it has the high stability and low noise in the transmission. However, the domestic bevel gear manufacturing industry still also continued to use the tradition to grind the tooth equipment and the craft, the production level is backward. At present the most tooth machine are the manual control, bevel gear's machining quality mainly dependence technical personnel's experience, the quality control is difficult. The most efficient precision CNC bevel gear lapper rely on imports.So the bevel gear tooth NC Institute of Design Research on the basis of its motion control methods and how to achieve this task has become the target. The topic is supported to Chongqing City Board of Education science and technology research projects (2007 CJ17).This paper analyses the lapping Principle of CNC bevel gear lapper. With the principle of bevel gear TCA on the basis of CNC bevel gear lapper design the CAXA two-dimensional mechanical structure; the size of the basic checking and calibration, three-dimensional UG modeling.Then in connection with the features of the CNC bevel gear lapper selected the NC system and ultimately determined by the Siemens 840D CNC machine to complete the development of inquiry. This article focuses on the movement control methods and technologies to achieve of CNC bevel gear lapper; design two bevel gear teeth patterns and identify specific NC interpolation algorithm. To resolve the key issues such as automatic gear, automatic backlash guarantee in lapping. Develop the special NC software for bevel gear lapping which is simple and friendly interface.Users can simply enter a small number of parameters to achieve the automatic bevel gears lapping. This article ground bevel gear lapper's motion control method and realizes the technical research to grind tooth's machine development, the design for the bevel gear numerical control to lay the foundation.
