Research On Development Of A Process Control System In Baosteel's Bloom Caster Project

Bloom caster began to build in BAOSTEEL in APR. 2006,and finished in APR. 2008.The main equipments of the caster were manufactured by a foreign company, including the automation system. To solve the"blank box"problem in the process control system ,BAOSTEEL decided to develop a new process control system respectively to replace the"blank box"system in the future.the article is focused on the development of such a system.In this paper, we discuss issures about technology, cost management,quality management, risk management and plan management. The main contributions of this thesis are as follows.1. technology.the paper introduced the 7 set caster system in baosteel, analysed the difference between the"blank box"system and the existed system and described the technology roadmap of the development of the system.2. cost management. The paper used the Constructive Cost Model to assess the cost and time of software development of the project.Also, the paper gave another method which is based on fuzzy theory to assess the development cost.3. quality management.based on the project and other related projects,the paper gave the standard document list which should be provided during the software development inside BAOSTEELto control the quality of the software.4. risk management.using the knowledge of PMI, the paper analysed the risk of the project by the phase of identifying ,analyzing and controlling, and provided the measures to alleviate the risks.5. plan management. using the knowledge of PMI, the paper gave the WBS of the project.by the network map of CRM, the paper found the key route along the plan and gave the detail plan of the project.The developed system was hot run with the"blank box"system parallelly from 28 APR. 2008,and the function of the system is almost at the same level with the"blank box"system.
