| These years, as more and more environmental problems are caused by using synthetic dyes in producing and applying process, many people pay much attention to natural color fibres. Producing color cotton successfully has played an important role in developing natural color fibres. Products made of natural color cotton have been slap-up and hygienical textiles in the market. Silk is the costful breed of natural fibres, and the developing of natural color silk will be affirmatively more welcomed.In this paper, the capabilities of natural color silk and common silk were compared through some test methods such as FT-IR, X-ray diffraction, SEM, heat-analysis, amino acid analysis and so on. The result is that crystalinity of natural color silk is lower than that of common silk while the crystalinity of degummed color silk is lower than that of degummed common silk too. In addition, the acid resistance, alkali resistance, oxidative resistance and deoxidization resistance of natural color silk were also studied.The performance and crystalinity of color silk degummed by different traditional methods were studied in the experiment. As a result, the silk textile degummed by enzyme has the best luster and handle. The silk textile has light color degummed by traditional methods as the pigment mainly exists in sericin , the pigment will be degummed together with the sericin through the traditional degumming methods. If the natural color silk is first treated by carbamide and thiocarbamide, and degummed by enzyme then, the truth is that the treated silk has a darker color with no changed in performance.The light fastness and soaping fastness of the color silk textile have been improved just a little after being finished by citric acid and DP60. It's found that natural color silk has antimicrobial property by testing the number of Staphylococcus aureus. And softness, property of dynamic drape and handle of the color silk textile are all good by testing the fabric styles.
