Recently, with the development of bolt net support technology, bolt net support has been used widely and got obvious economic benefit. Metal-wire is very important in bolt net support. High-quality metal-net can control the distortion of non-anchoring sill, and it can support tunnel rock, which is an important method to ensure the reinforcement of anchor arm. The worse the stability of tunnel rock is, the more important of metal-wire is. At the present time, the major joint of metal-wire is still linked with a simplification tool in manual. But it has the problems of hard intensity of labor, low efficiency and worse quality of knots. With the quickly development of working face, a new method of metal-net tying is necessary.Against the present situation of metal-net tying in manual, a special type of metal-net tying machine is designed. PLC and pneumatic system control is used in this special tying machine, which is simple in structure and manipulated easily. This special machine can also be cycling operated, decrease working intensity and also increase working efficiency.Based on the analysis and calculate of knot theory and wire feeding guide passage, the wire feeding mechanism is designed and the main parts of mine metal-net tying machine is produced. There are two design schemes of wire feeding mechanism. The first one is completed by gear driving with V groove. The model of wire feeding in gear with V groove is built and then emulated by ADAMS. The emulating results indicate that, this feeding scheme has the problems of instability of both the wire and gear. So the second scheme is used, which is completed by column wheel. And the emulated results indicate that this scheme is feasible. The driving force is stable and it can also increase efficiency. PLC and pneumatic system control are combined to complete the automatization and high efficiency of mine metal-wire tying machine. Tying machine can not only complete the tying of different nets, but can also complete the tying automatically. Meanwhile, the electrical control sections are laid in unexploited cabinet.The dynamic characteristic of pneumatic system is emulated by MATLAB, and the simulation results indicate that the pneumatic control system is stable and the response is quickly. The tying model machine is produced according the theory analysis and calculate. In library, many metal-net tying experiments are done with air-compressor and spread net-pieces to determine the system pressure. And industrial experiments are done in mine. Experiments authenticate that metal-net tying machine can complete metal-net tying automatically and the quality of knot is well, and it also approves the feasibility and reliability of mine metal-wire pneumatic tying machine.
