Automatic vertical drilling tools are down-hole closed-loop systems, can correct incline automatically and keep hole vertical , so they are advanced drilling tools which have rather high technology. The automatic vertical drilling tools positioning at thousands of meters and in view of the impacts of down-well complex work conditions and environment, the hydraulic control steering mechanisms in them are different from routine ones, which are demanded of upper performances. The paper has discussed the research significance and the existing status in and abroad of automatic vertical drilling tools in detail , introduced the characteristic of the structure and educed the mathematic model of the hydraulic control steering mechanisms. The simulation on them that was built by the simulation software under actual work conditions opens out the peculiar characteristic which the hydraulic system owns. Using the hydraulic test platform to research on the hydraulic control steering mechanisms and comparing the result of simulation and experiment, the conclusion of simulation is consistent with the experiment, which prove the truth and reliability of the simulation model. Then the numeric simulation under the extraordinary environment pressure indicates the pressure can improve the performance of oil suction., enhance the response speed of correcting incline cylinder, so brings the characteristic of fitting the system for the pressure. At present the experiment can't be carried out on the hydraulic control steering mechanisms under actual work conditions in labs. The paper puts forward a economical and applied research means of simulation on the mechanisms by simulation software, and the simulation conclusion is validated by the experiment, so the content of the paper made a useful reference to the development of the hydraulic control steering mechanisms.
