The paper introduced the theory, process and affect factor of sulfur recovery, illustrated its importance in environment protection and its present process condition.The paper deeply studied and analyzed the present condition of 2kt/a Sulfur Recovery of Dagang Petrochemical Company, put forward the causes of its low sulfur recovery rate and off-gas discharge failing to reach the required demand, these are as follows the process has unreasonable in off-gas treatment equipment, the air supply control is backward, the catalyst performance is low. The related optimization program of 5kt/a Sulfur Recovery Unit include to adopt SCOT off-gas treatment process to ensure qualified discharge, and to apply H2S/SO2 in-line analyzer to feedback control air distribution for sour gas of sulfur transformation furnace, to combine filling high Claus activity and anti-"oxygen leakage"poisoning capacity catPSR-41 and TiO2-based catalyst PSR-31 in Claus sulfur recovery section to increase sulfur conversion rate.On the basis of introduction the implement of above optimization method and its real effect analysis, the essay draws a conclusion that the optimization program get a satisfactory result, it is successful. It can substantially increase the recovery rate of sulphur and the emission of SO2 from sulphur recovery installation.
