Objectives By means of analyzing high school students' first-aid education, we can understand the occurrences of high school students injuries in Yanji, high school students knowledge of safety requirements in Yanji, understand their awareness and attitudes towards safety knowledge, and clarify the effects of safety education on incidence, safety requi rement, safety knowledge and its awareness among high school students. Methods With the method of convenience sampling, two out of 1020 second-year senior high school students were chosen in the survey. The baseline survey, effects of security first-aid education intervention and the comparison of their sustainability before and after were adopted. Results (1)The top four reasons of high school students getting hurt are falling, food poisoning, traffic injuries and sports injuries; (2) the overall injury occurrence rate drops from 35. 6% to 22. 7% after first aid education with significant statistical difference ( x~2 =59. 109, P< 0. 001) . in which boys and girls have both lower incidence while boys have subtle change and girls have obvious difference ( x~2 =77.709, P< 0. 001) . Boys injury rate was significantly higher than that of girls (P <0. 001) . (3)After the safety and first-aid education, Han and Korean minority students have reduced the incidence of injury, in which the reduction of Han was not obvious( x~2=0. 992, P>0. 05), and Korean minority has more reduction effect ( x~2 =49.149, P<0. 001) . before and after the safety first-aid education , the injury rate between Korean and Han nationality have significant differences, and the injuries occurred among Korean students was significantly higher than the Han students ( x~2 =65.336, P<0. 001) . (4)Students acquire higher level of safety knowledge and skills mastered after safety first aid education than before (P<0. 001) ;Degrees of mastering safety treatment knowledge will drop dramatically 6 months later after the completeness of first aid education (P<0. 001) ;But the effect of reduction is still better than that before any first aid education. There lies distinct difference (P <0.001) . (5)The level of mastering safety knowledge is affected by the impact of the interaction of time and gender. (6)Both before and after the first aid education, students consider it necessary to set up first aid treatment classes and AIDS knowledge education shall be required to be part of it. Furthermore, they propose all students shall receive the training of first aid treatment and life safety measures; they hope to obtain once or twice first aid education every year by means of having lectures, watching TV or movies, reading promotion brochures, organizing class discussion and practicing drills. Conclusion (1) High school student injury incidences drop after getting safety education;(2)First-aid safety education can significantly improve the level of students knowledge and ability to deal with it, but achievements are not sustainable. It requires short, medium and long-term evaluation, and the intensified education can be proceeded according to the consecutive evaluation results; (3)There lies importance to carry out furthermore research on the approaches, skills and content of safety education in order to achieve better outcomes. ;(4)Safety education on high school students acquire cooperation among different related parties.
