With fierce competition of the polystyrene resin market, the increasingly growing special demand for the products and the severe situation of other resin to replace part of PS resin, developing high-performance PS resin products has become an important means of improving competitive ability. Low-index product development goal is that in oder to adapt to current market needs and the needs of the future development of the market, we will develop new polystyrene product with a good market prospects and development potential and increase economic efficiency for enterprises.Polystyrene installations of Daqing Petrochemical Complex use the bulk polymerization technology of ABBLCI and HUNISMAN, the device has many advantages, such as process short, low investment and low energy consumption, waste less, covering an small area and so on. Because of a single product, low output, low ability to withstand market risks, the development of good market prospects and high share of new products are the primary task of the complex. In order to give full play to the characteristics and broaden the scope of application of Daqing products and increase value-added of products, development of high-quality generic low-level index of polystyrene resin is imperative.In this paper, according to polystyrene device characteristics of chemical plant under the Daqing Petrochemical Complex, at first, we researched its screening process, mainly the polymerization process, granulation systems, wind systems and conducting oil delivery system selection process of the raw materials, and determined the most Excellent polymerization process. Considering polymerization process and catalyst of the half-life and trigger appropriate temperature, triggered the response rate, we screened the initiators and determined that a new low temperature initiator was the best polymerization initiator. In the polymerization process, the polymerization reaction temperature was an important factor of affecting polymer molecular weight and speed of polymerization, therefore, this paper also studied polymerization temperature, by experiments we found that when the polymerization reaction temperature was around 120℃, the melt flow rate of Polystyrene products was 1.5-2.5 g/10min. On the basis of the Polymerization conditions study, industrial production parameters were also explored. In this polymerization conditions, we produced polystyrene products with a melt flow rate of 2.5-4 g/10min (Grade GPPS-202D), the brands of products are suitable for extrusion foam and the production of XPS sheet metal.On the basis of successfully synthesizing polystyrene GPPS-202D, we also tried to pilot polystyrene products'(Grade GPPS-201D) production with melt flow rate of 1.5-2.5g/10min, the products were suitable for two-way stretch packaging material. The two low-index resin applied to processing production technology of two brands XPS and BOPS and the technical devices used in industrial production. Finally, the paper also carried out a detailed study for the two low-resin product quality, material consumption and energy consumption calibration.
