With the improvement of living standard and enhancement of healthy environmental awareness, people are more and more concerned about the medical care functionalities of cotton fabric. Therefore it is significant to conduct antibiotic finishing to the woven cottons. There are three antibiotic substances, that is, organic, inorganic and natural ones. Among them, the natural ones do little harm to human beings or environment because they are directly extracted from animals and plants. In this article, the active ingredients of aloe and honey suckle were extracted, and their mixtures were applied to the antibiotic finishing of cotton fabric and the finishing methods and conditions were discussed. The main researches were as follows. First, the extraction process was discussed by using ethyl alcohol as solvent to extract the drug efficacy ingredients of aloe and honey suckle through the orthogonal experiment. Secondly, the finishing process of drug efficacy ingredients was studied through the single factor experiment by taking the antibacterial rate of cotton fabric as the test target, choosing the mixture of aloe and honey suckle ingredients suitable for cotton fabric, and then the best technological conditions were obtained through the orthogonal experiment. Thirdly, the creasy recovery angles, breaking strength, whiteness and the percent of the increase in weight as well as the fastness of antibiotic effect to washing for finished cotton fabric were measured. Based on the experiments, this article arrives at the following conclusions:First, the best extraction conditions of aloe anthraquinone compound were: ethyl alcohol concentration 70%, liquid-solid ratio 1:5, extraction temperature 60℃, extraction time 1h. The best extraction conditions of chlorogenic acid from honey suckle were: ethyl alcohol concentration 60%, liquid-solid ratio 1:20, extraction temperature 70℃, extraction time 1.5h.Secondly, seven comparison experiments with different aloe-honey suckle ratios (1:0, 3:1, 2:1, 1:1, 1:2,1: 3 and 0:1) were performed by taking golden yellow staphylococcus, backwoods coli and white rosary fungus as antibacterial instruction. The best ratio of loe to honey suckle was 2:1.Thirdly, through the single factor analysis, it was found that the good antibacterial performance could be obtained when the finishing conditions were as follows: aloe-honey suckle extraction 3-4%, polybasic carboxylic acid (citric acid/tartaric acid mole ration 1:1) 10-12%, sodium hypophosphite 6-8%, baking temperature 160-180℃, baking time 3-4 mins. Combined with orthogonal test results, the best finishing technology should be as follows: aloe-honey suckle extraction 3%, polybasic carboxylic acid 12%, sodium hypophosphite 6%, baking temperature160℃, baking time 3min.Fourthly, the antibacterial rates of cotton fabric finished with aloe-honey suckle extraction were as follows: 95.6% for golden yellow staphylococcus, 91.5% for backwoods coli, and 68.8% for white rosary fungus, recpectively. However, the antibacterial rates of cotton fabric finished with sole extraction were 92.5% for golden yellow staphylococcus, 89.8% for backwoods coli, and 65.8% for white rosary fungus, respectively while the related values of cotton fabric finished with honey suckle extraction were 89.4% for golden yellow staphylococcus, 85.5% for backwoods coli, 66.3% for white rosary fungus. Therefore it was concluded that the mixture of aloe and honey suckle extraction had obvious synergetic antibacterial function. Finally, the better properties were given for the cotton fabric finished with aloe-honey suckle extraction mixture. For instance, the wrinkle resistance and the percent of the increase in weight were higher than those of the fabric finished with sole extraction. However, some properties such as breaking strength and whiteness exhibited slight decrease. Even after washed for 10 times, finished fabric still had high antibacterial rate, to golden yellow staphylococcus and backwoods coli still above 80%, showing that finished fabric had high fastness to washing.
