| How to better appraise sustainable development always been a hot topic in academic.As a quantitative index for evaluate the sustainable development,Ecological footprint reflectes the ecological supply and ecological need with the ecological productive land to intuitively measured the sustainability of the society's development.Analysis on the change of ecological footprints, the driving factors and change mechanism concretely and deeply in the certain time and certain region can be able to better analysis social development sustainability.This paper,combining with the construction index system of ecological county,do the research on ecological footprint change and the change's mechanism in Yanling county from 2000 to 2006,the concrete content as follows:(1)According to the deficiency of ecological footprint theory on ignoring pollution ecological occupancy,the paper calculated the ecological footprint from three aspects:biological resource account,energy resource consumption account and pollution absorption account,which are perfect the theory of ecological footprint.The results indicated that:ecological footprint in Yanling county increased year by year,raise from 1.696124hm~2/cap in 2000 to 2.077878hm~2/cap in 2006,and in which,the ecological footprint of energy resource consumption give a maximum increasing.raise by 56.5%comparatively with it in2000,followed by ecological footprint of biological resources account and the pollution absorption account,raised by 20.06%,18.88%respectively in past seven years.Coal need is the maximum in the energy demand,the average coal ecological footprint almost 50.71%of the average entire energy consumption's ecological footprint,it means that the coal plays an important role in Yanling social development and the energy consumption structure.In general,in Yanling,social development status behaved as ecological surplus in Yanling until 2004,the ecological surplus per person from 2000 to 2006 were 0.112242hm~2, 0.051981hm~2,0.093203hm~2,0.000913hm~2 respectively,it means that the resource in this region can satisfy people's need,the social development was sustainable.But ecological deficit appeared in 2004 and presented a rising tendency,in 2006,traise to 0.268919hm~2 per person,the social development are unsustainable.During the construction of the ecological county,effective measures must be took to promoting the social sustainable development.(2) First combing with the index system of ecological county construction,adopting the SPSS software,the paper do the study on the driving factors which due to the ecological footprint change in Yanling county from 2000 to 2006.By using the method of the principal component analysis,the results of research indicated that the economical development dynamic factors, Environmental protection factors,social development dynamic factors influenced ecological footprint from the different aspects in Yanling city in the past seven years,and the first driving factor is economical development dynamic factors,following by Environmental protection factors, social development dynamic factors.The study demonstrated that promoting by the economic development,accompanying with the growing population and the increasing pollutant'discharge, the demaind on natural resources was increase,which lead to increase in the ecological footprint(3) Considering the social development status of Yanling county and it characteristic,consuiting some other Researchers' work,some suggestions are proposed on sustainable development. In the process of economic development in Yanling,based on the fully utilizing it's advantages in natural resources,by optimizing industrial structure,advocating cycling economy,minimizing wastes and recycling resource,can be able to reduce the pressures cause by the people on the environment,remission increasing trendency of ecological footprint,improve the carrying capacity,and realize the sustainable development ultimatly.
