A Study Of The Relationship Between Ecological Civilization And Industrial Civilization

The industrial revolution has created a glorious material civilization, which promoted the historical process of modernization for human society effectively. But at the same time, it also has created serious destruction to the resources and the environment, which not only endangered the sustainable development of the society, but also endangered the survival and the development of the human himself. Therefore, in recent decades, critical voices of scholars on the industrial civilization are continuous, and the building of ecological civilization as a harmonious coexistence between man and nature has become the common aspiration of people around the world. Communist Party of China also solemnly wrote the issue of building ecological civilization into the report of 17th CPC National Congress. What the ecological civilization is, and how to look at the relationship between ecological civilization and industrial civilization is the key to the building of ecological civilization. There are both intrinsic distinction and internal connection between them. Ecological civilization must abandon the mechanical view of nature of industrial civilization, negative value system of internal value in natural world, conquering technological concept, consumption concept of consumerism and the developmental concept of simple pursuit of economic growth, on the other hand, replace them with the view of nature of organicism, positive ecological value system of internal value in natural world, harmonious technological concept and ecological consumption, as well as scientific concept of development of pursuing of harmonious development among human beings, nature and human society. Nevertheless, it does not mean the rupture of ecological civilization and the industrial civilization completely, but the critical succession of advanced scientific technology and material outcome created by industrial civilization, and the increasingly perfecting legal system, with the aim of serving the construction of ecological civilization, so as to promote efficient and effective development of human society.
