| The core issue of this article is to explore and study the necessityand the pathway selection of the construction of ecological civilization.At the beginning of the article, I study the theory of ancient and modernclassic writers, scholars, and culture about the construction of ecologicalcivilization. Then, to investigate the status and the necessity of ecologicalcivilization, I place the ecological civilization into the long history ofhuman civilization and the overall layout of the cause of socialism withChinese characteristics.At the same time, the article takes developedcountries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan asexample, learns the advanced experiences and obtains the inspirations ofthe pathway selection on the construction of ecological civilization fromthem. Finally, the article demonstrates the major theoretical and practicalsignificance of the construction of ecological civilization.Specifically, the first part of the article investigates the theory of theclassical writers of Marx and Engels, the traditional culture of theChinese, contemporary Chinese scholars and Western scholars on the construction of ecological civilization. They have a commonunderstanding that nature is the premise of human survival anddevelopment, the natural environment of crisis is a crisis of humansurvival. This provides a theoretical basis for the construction ofecological civilization.The second part investigates the necessity and the status of theconstruction of ecological civilization. Ecological civilization is a newform of civilization following the agricultural civilization and theindustrial civilization, and ecological civilization construction andeconomic construction, political construction, cultural construction andsocial construction together constitute the overall layout of the cause ofsocialism with Chinese characteristics. In the long term, the constructionof ecological civilization relates to human survival and development;from our point of view, the construction of ecological civilization is theessential requirement of socialism with Chinese characteristics, aninevitable requirement of building a moderately prosperous society andthe question of building a beautiful Chinese justice. The third part learns the advanced experience form developedcountries which have already embarked on the protection of theenvironment and the construction of ecological civilization such as theUnited States, the United Kingdom, Japan. In the fourth part we can getsome inspirations of the pathway selection about the construction ofecological civilization in our country. The construction of ecologicalcivilization not only strengthens vigorously the social status and role ofnon-governmental environmental organizations and intensifies the effortsof environmental education, but also does promote the institutionaladvantages of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Meanwhile, astrong legislation, enforcement and supervision mechanisms are assistant,the support of technical system is essential.Finally, the article demonstrates the major theoretical and practicalsignificance of the construction of ecological civilization. This articlepoints out the ecological civilization gets rid of the modernanthropocentric way of thinking of the traditional industrial civilizationon the relationship between human and nature, and thus establishes a reasonable modern anthropocentrism. Therefore, it is a leap of theoreticalsignificance in the history of human civilization compared with theindustrial civilization. At the same time, the construction of ecologicalcivilization has a very important practical significance to solve ourenvironmental crisis, practice the scientific concept of development, andbuild a socialist harmonious society, as well as a comprehensive well-offsociety. |
