With the development of technology and fierce competition of market,the conception "time is money" has gone deep into people's heart.Almost everybody is busying with their work,hardly has time to iron the clothes. So they have a higher standard for fabrics,such as more comfortable, flexible and easy-care.Market is guided by customers' needs.In this case, many textile enterprises develop this kind of fabrics positively.Tensile fabrics got people's preference and Lycra is the earliest and the most well-know.Dow chemical company has developed a new kind of elastic fibers called XLA in 2002.XLA fiber technology is a unique,elastic fiber that is olefin-based.Its trade name is lastol.It can fit many styles like woolen fabrics,swimwear,intimates and ready to wear.Now Dow is committed to expand XLA's application.This paper mainly study on the comparison of the Lycra and XLA fabrics.Meanwhile,analyze the cheaper PET DTY and PA DTY fabrics.The first step of this paper is to choose the best yarn.The choice mainly based on three sides.They are strength,relaxation and back flexibility. Finally we will choose spandex,XLA,PET DTY and PA DTY core-spun yarn.Weaving with the Cherry TNY101B-12 automatic small rapier prototype of our school,technical parameters' design is essential for the woven fabrics. The height of shed,timing of the crossing,tension and the height back rest are four key factors,which have great effect on the quality of the fabrics. By orthogonal layout and variance analysis,we will discuss the impact of those three parameters on the rate of warp stop and find the optimal technological parameters.The performance testing is mainly for the twill fabrics that have elastic yarn as their weft while cotton yarn is their warp. There will be comparison between elastic fabrics and cotton fabrics that have the same structure.Meanwhile,there will be also comparison between fabrics with the same structure but different materials,such as traditional spandex fabric and the new XLA fabric,PET DTY and PA DTY fabric.On the contrary,fabrics with the same materials but different structure such as XLA twill and plain fabrics are compared as well.The purpose is to find the connection between the materials and structure with the fabrics.Hope this paper can have some guide value.
