Research On Comprehensive Assessment Of Water Resources Security In Zengdu Area Of Suizhou City

Water resources is not only a basic natural resources for maintaining ecological environment and social development, but also a strategical economy resources of a country. Moreover, water resources is usually regarded as an organic part of comprehensive national strength. The sustainable use of water resources provides the important security for social economy development and ecosystem balance. However, with the development of population and economy, the demand on water resources is becoming more and more enormous. Since 1980's, the crisis of water resources is becoming especially serious. Nowadays, the water resources shortness is being the threat of the whole country and society. Therefore, studying on the water resources assessment has become one of important research subjects which government pay a great attention to in the world. Water resources security assessment is not only including water quality and quantity security, but also the evaluation of the complex system comprising social-economy and environment.In this paper, Zengdu area of Suizhou city in Hubei province was chosen as the object of the study. The content of this study was mainly divided into three parts, that is, the assessment of the water environment quality, the water resources quantity and the water resources security. The main results of this paper are as following.(1) The surface water environment quality was becoming better since 2005. The status of the water quality in 2007 was belonged to classⅢ. Moreover, the trend of transforming classⅢinto classⅡwas bigger than into classⅣ.(2) The supply-demand balance of the water resources in 2010, 2020 under different frequency (P=50%,75%,95%) was 1.209×108m3, -1.053×108m3 and -2.745×108m3 respectively.(3) The water resources security was brought up under certain conditions such as social economy and technology. It mainly showed that the quality, quantity and spatio-temporal distribution of the usable water resources can promote the coordinative development between social economy and ecological environment. (4) The status of water resources security is neutral in 2010 and safe in 2020.The innovations of this paper are: Firstly, basic meaning of water resources security was put forward and the assessment indicators system was established. Secondly, the indicators'desirable value and the security degree was established.
