| Owing to its excellent performance, special beam pumping units(also called as two horsehead pumping units) is widely used in oil fields at present. There is some difference between special beam pumping units and conventional beam pumping units. The girder beam back arm of special ones is cranked out with a variety radius circular arc shape and the radius can be changed under some rules; additionally, the girder back arm is connected with the beam by flexible rope.In this paper, optimal design of double horse head pumping unit have been presented. The research is accomplished toenhance its efficiency and solve the problem that the driving rope of the back horsehead is easy to be damaged. The geometric model of the double horse head pumpingunit is built, and the finite element analysis of the unit has been completedin detail. Found the solution to present the breakdown in the scene.
