Since the 21st century, in order to adapt to the demand of modern petroleum exploration, complex structure well has become the industry forefront and key technology of the international petroleum. Meanwhile, the modern directional drilling technology emerges, rotary steering drilling tools, which is known as "drilling missiles and guided technology", is an important part of the modern drilling technology.In order to satisfy the needs of the domestic petroleum exploration, shorten the distance with the world advanced level of rotary steering drilling technology, and break the monopoly of the foreign advanced technology, the domestic start studies of drilling technology. But in the process of research, it needs many downtimes during commissioning and data playback without suitable debugging platform. When it reads the data, real-time, reliability and universality are not very well. So based on infrared wireless transmission technology and configuration software technology, the paper's goal is to achieve real-time, online and intuitive debugging and data playback easily and quickly for the rotary steering drilling tool, improve the rotary steering drilling tool development efficiency.For domestic rotary steering drilling tools composition, working principle and structural characteristics are analyzed, the wireless communication mode is applied to transmit data between drilling tool and debug equipment.The parameters of the drilling tool are modified instantly with convenient simulation environment of MCGS configuration software. According to the rich "animative configuration" function, the simulation of the drilling tool operation is designed in order to increase visibility and operability. It can be accessed on experimental data of the rotary steering drilling quickly with the establishment of real-time database and historical data report.According to the characteristics of MCGS and DSPIC30F machine, and standard communication protocol MODBUS is used for data communication, avoiding to developing device drivers, saving the costs, and shorten the research time.The system is debugged by the hardware and the software. It has reached the design requirements and improved the rotary steering drilling tool development efficiency.
