Most of the drilling accidents have characteristics of abruptness, complexity and polytropy, therefore, when drilling accidents occurrs, emergency rescue operations are particularly important, it will be the last defense line to promptly and effectively reduce the losses. With regards to this, on the basis of comprehensive utilization of modern communication and computer network technology, it is imperative to establish a drilling accident and calamity emergency rescue system which could quickly response and effectively make decision. The paper based on the background of the undertaken demonstration project of Shaanxi province:drilling accident and calamity emergency rescue demonstration project of Yanchang oilfield, mainly focused on the following aspects. Firstly, investigated related materials home and abroad about emergency rescue setup and emergency rescue system, and summarized the emergency rescue system in three aspects:the basic concept of emergency rescue, rescue principle and tasks, the connotation of rescue system; Secondly, according to the characteristics of drilling operation, summarized the types and disaster of the drilling accident and calamity, and took sulfureted hydrogen poisoning as an example, evaluated the risk with fault tree analysis method. Thirdly, researched the compiling principle and framework of emergency rescue preplan of the system, considering the characteristics of the drilling operation, risk, level and scope of the drilling accident and calamity, according to the related accidents grading standards, puts forward the accident classification standard and coping strategies of the system. Finally, designed and implemented the function and structure of the system, established a software system, which is mainly focused on rescue data management, preplan compiling and management, training and drills before the events, rapid emergency decision-making after the events. The establishment of the system not only further enhances oilfield's ability to cope with drilling accident and calamity, minimize the casualties and property losses, but also can be extended to the whole oilfield and other enterprise's emergency rescue system's construction, which has profound significance and broad application prospect.
