Template in the synthesis of orderly nanostructured materials occupies an extremely important status, which can be used for preparation of nanoparticles, nanopoints, nanowires, nanotubes and nanorods. In order to obtain the ideal nanostructures, two kinds of templates, porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) and chiral low-molecular-weight amphiphile, were applied. Polymer nanoarrays were prepared using the porous anodic alumina; and helical silica and organic-inorganic silica nanofibers were prepared using the chiral low-molecular-weight amphiphile. On the first hand, the AAO templates with the round, taper and pencil-like holes were prepared through an electrochemical method. The methyl methacrylate and polystyrene nanoarrays were prepared using the AAO templates with the round and tapered holes through solution/melt wetting and bulk polymerization. For the preparation of the AAO, the growth of the first oxidation time was optimized. Moreover, the optical properties of the round-hole AAO with different length and aperture were studied. On the second hand, a chiral low-molecular-weight amphiphiles was synthesized. Necklace-like silica nanostructures and right-handed helical silica nanofibers were prepared using the self-assemblies of the amphiphiles as templates under basic and acidic conditions, respectively. Odd-even effect was found in the preparation of the helical silica nanofibers.
