The gantry MC is one of the indispensable equipments for machining. The mostly trait is that machining span is great, high efficiency machining and the excellent rigidity. They are fit for finish machining or the batch of machining, and be widely used in automobile, mould and aviation industryies. Our company's a gantry MC didn't adjust the crossbeam balance after reconstructing. The productive task of our factory was leveraged by the problem.We analyze the theory and the mechanism of adjusting crossbeam balance of the gantry MC, that drives two lead screws by one motor in the thesis. Then design a self-existent equipment that can adjust the balance of crossbeam. The control-unit of equipment adopt the PLC, the interface of man-machine is the touch screen that consist of the mode select, the data acquisition and the abridged general view and so on. About the mechanism of adjusting crossbeam balance, the three-phase blend stepping motor take the place of the A. C. motors, the coder as a feedback device, then make up of a closed-loop system. In the thesis we also analyze the three-phase blend stepping motor, make a mathematic model of motor and determine the simulation parameter by experiment. According as the mathematic model we make a simulation and analyze the data by PID control, these improve the accuracy of the crossbeam balance.The offset data of the crossbeam balance,we get by direct measurement. We set fifteen repair points in the length of 4775mm about Y axle. Depend on repeating acquisition data we make sure the offset. After adjusting the crossbeam, the offset of the lean of crossbeam up to a ISO standard that is 0.03mm each meter, the working accuracy be improved obviously ,it can do finish machining. At the same time, the fault rate is falling. The thesis not only solves the technical problem of our company but also has the commercially valuable.At last, article analysis the conclusion and advance ideas about that adjust the balance of crossbeam.
