Belt conveyor is the most important modern industrial continuous transport equipment of bulk materials, and large-scale (long distance, high belt speed, cross-country) is one of its development. The traditional design method of conveyor, with rigid body dynamic analysis, can not meet the design requirements of large-scale conveyor. The modern design.method which is based on the viscoelastic properties of conveyer belt, considering the dynamics of the take-up mechanism and the driven system , is necessary for the design of belt conveyor .This dissertation deals with the characteristic of the conveyor belt ;builds the viscoelastic model of the conveyor belt from the viscoelastic properties . Dynamic model of conveyor systems, including the take-up mechanism,are built and kinetic equations are also be derived.The paper analyses the performance of the various driven system, establish the mathematical models and propose a drawing method of the curve of the joint boot of the motor and the torque-limit hydraulic coupling;obtained by difference method discrete kinetic equation of the conveyor to be used for numerical solution.The dynamic analysis program is developed with MATLAB language. MATLAB ODE solver is used to solve the kinetic equation to simulate the starting process and the braking process of the conveyor. This dissertation also deal with some key issues of the simulation, such as: how to control drive unit according to control speed curve,how to simulate the complex loading of each unit during startup procedure, with multiple drives,how to calculate the driving force of drive element and successfully calculated the dynamic response results of conveyor; Finally, examples are calculated, analyzed the results.
