With the wood material widely used in various projects, the fire safety in using has aroused great concern. Researching the fire performance and the safety of wooden materials has important practical significance. The study researched the block-boards which widely used in various engineering, using painting, decorative panel veneer and glue impregnated veneers which are three common methods of surface decoration and by using of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate to fire treatment. Test produced 5 different treatment block-boards, by using of cone calorimeter for different surface treatments and fire treated to test for combustion., through the ignition time (TTI), heat release rate (HRR), effective heat of combustion (EHC), total heat release combustion parameters to get the fire performance of analysis and evaluation, The following conclusions:(1) At 50kW/m2 intensity of heat radiation, the three kinds of surface treatment block-boards, the melamine decorative block-boards veneer has better fire performance and safety. Painting block-boards is poor in fire performance and security. Veneered block-boards in little effect on the fire performance, Obtained parameters are almost consistent with the blank block-board.(2) Utilizing ammonium dihydrogen phosphate to treat with block-board has good fire performance and safety. The Block-boards in fire-retardant treatment greatly extended the ignition time, and the peak heat release rate decreased significantly, the value of total heat release reduce, burning time shortened. Surface-middle fire treatment block-boards and surface-middle-core fire treatment block-board specimens had little difference between the fire performances.(3) The intensity of the heat radiation has the different treatment affects on all treatment block-boards. When the heat radiation from the 50kW/m2 up to 75kW/m2, the ignition time of all different treatment block-boards have shortened. Painting specimens is the most obvious, decorative block-boards shorted little time; the ignition time of fire-retardant treatment block-boards is obvious short, too. At higher thermal radiation intensity, all samples produced the heat release rate and peaks have increased, the total heat release increased, mass loss increased, but the effective heat of combustion is about the same. Fire-retardant treated block-boards in low heat radiation intensity compared with untreated are superior fire performance under high heat radiation, indicating the fire retardant treatment early is better. According to the results suggested that with the enhancement of heat radiation, all the specimens of different treatments will continue to worse in fire performance.
