The modern molding belongs to equipment industry with high-tech and large fund. Injection mould is an embranchment of molding industry. With the wide use of Plastic Product, injecting mould is developing rapidly. But because of plastic injection molding process is very complicated, considered the many factors when design mold, no matter overall structure or parts structure, during the mould design mostly no fixed guidelines, different designers often designed different feasible structure scheme with strong flexibility. And injection mould is commonly arranged by the order, its characteristics are small batch, many variety, short cycle. So injection mould company need a new intelligent high,integrated technology, many domestic mould enterprise are using modular design techniques to improve product development efficiency. Design method for product platform design can achieve resource sharing, can realize the unified management of design parameters, by building a mature, common platform to fast provide products to market in different Series to meet changing market needs. So far as studying on injection mould modular design, studying on injection mould modular design under product platform environment is undoubtedly more practical significance.This paper based on the modular design, launch design on injection mould modular design product platform and system development. The specific studying contents are as following:(1)Access to the vast literature material, summarized the injection mould, modular design and product platform related theory and research status.(2)Introduced the composition,characteristics and research content of modular product platform, Based on Bottom-up design concept, Proposed a modular product platform design method based on function analysis, and research the every step of the basic principles and methods.(3)Based on analyzing current injection moulds' function and structure, planning injection mould product family as a whole, and create the figure of injection mould product function and structure, on this basis the method of classifying module is presented based on functional flow, and the coding system of functional module is created. (4)Given the modular design example of Injection Mould, and established a matrix, finally on the basis design the injection mould product platform.(5)Refer to the Pro/TOOLKIT some relevant theoretical knowledge and create a Pro/TOOLKIT application basic method. Develop injection mould CAD system, design the overall structure of system, including function model and design process, given the operation instances, finally demonstrates running instance of system partial functions.
