Compared with the traditional Internal Combustion Forklift (ICF) , the Electric Forklift (EF), has obvious advantages in power, economy, operability, and it also has green, energy-saving, environmental protection and other salient features. Compared to Internal Combustion Forklift with the same loading capacity, the Electric Forklift costs lower for the power consumption. Meanwhile, with the development of high-performance vehicle power battery technology, the Electric Forklift has reached the level of Internal Combustion Forklift at the driving range and the continuous working time. In addition, the Electric Forklift has low noise, no emissions and is suitable for indoor operation. It has become a new trend of forklift industry both at home and abroad. According to an authoritative magazine analysis, on the future world market, the Electric Forklift sales will continue to surge. China will be the most robust sales growth. The advantages of the Electric Forklift depend on DC motor controller, therefore, to design a small size, low cost, high efficiency, safety motor controller product has deep theoretical significance, social significance and economic significance.This dissertation, firstly, clarified the status of drive control technology for DC motor of the Electric Forklift, and analysed and pointed out the shortcomings and inadequacies of the Electric Forklift. For the big loss and low efficiency of free-wheeling of Motor controller, proposed a DC motor driver control system design based on the synchronous free-wheeling, created a system simulation model under the Matlab, carried out a large number of relational simulation, and the large number of simulation results proved the correctness of the design. The digital signal processor TMS320F2812 produced as kernel control chip to design the control system hardware circuit, and developed control strategies in C language. After deeply analysed of the system architecture of the Electric Forklift, built the test bench of the Electric Forklift. On the basis of the test bench, carried out a large number of relative study combined the controller software and hard- ware. The further experimental waveforms and data offered a strong confirmation of the rationality and feasibility of the design. Finally, according to the analysis of the experimental results, some conclusions of this dissertation have been proved. Ideas for future are also proposed.
