The SCM-based thickness measuring system of the shells airframe is introduced in this paper. The releasing and clamping of the shells are controlled by slenoid valve and the rotating of the shells airframe is driven by AC motor steadily in this system. The sensors are driven by stepper motor to reciprocate during the rotating process of the shells. Both internal and external high-precision displacement sensor are used in this system. The datum of the two sensors in different locations are collected and processed through the SCM. The communication between SCM and touch screen is achieved by RS-232. Because of the powerful man-machine interface of touch screen, the testing process and test visibility are achieved and the segment size error of the thickness is assessed.A detailed analysis for the functions of the SCM-based measuring system is given in the paper, and the overall program is designed on this basis. All of these are introduced such as the design of the solenoid valve driving circuit and hydraulic oil circuit, the stepper motor driving circuit, the three-phase AC induction motor control circuit of the closed-loop frequency control, the data collecting and processing of the two displacement sensors in SCM and the RS-232 communication circuit between SCM and touch screen ect. The software programming program is given in each functional module.
