Generic object oriented substation event(GOOSE) is a message mechanism in standard IEC 61850 designed to meet the demand of message fast transmission in substation automation system.The main function of GOOSE message in field of relay is such like the transmission of the tripping relay,switch,start,closed and allowing real-time signal,etc.these signals who correctly,fastly shows the power system failure and abnormal working conditions,is the main basis of protection logic to remove a failure component.With the promotion and application of the series standards of IEC 61850,GOOSE message will have a wide range applications,it needs a in-depth research of its communication mechanism,application, etc.In this paper, the model of GOOSE and problems about it is analyzed, For the conformance testing of GOOSE message transmission,a method using finite state machine based on automata theory is brought forward.the real-time,reliability and security of GOOSE message is studied,some problems should be pay attention in the dsign of GOOSE network are pointed out. Aiming at the actual status that the 10kV bus short-circuit accident in power system should be cut off rapidly,a simple and easy bus protection base on GOOSE communication mechanism is introduced,and its'component parts,prtection theory,protetion logic are analyzed detaily.Finaly,the application of simple and easy bus protection in Jun-he substation is introduced,and the application effects and issues involved of the practical project are concluded.
