The rapid development of economy has brought vigor to the building industry. At present, the large projects in the main cities of China, like bamboo shoots in spring, have been emerging in large numbers with the common features--- huge investment, complicated technology, long construction period. As investment and construction period usually increase by direct proportion, project investment should be controlled effectively with a key point at the control of construction schedule.Since our country introduced the project management method at the end of 1980's, huge economic and social benefits have been obtained after many years'experiences and the project management technology has also applied rapidly in our country. In the other hand, although the project management theory of our country is rather mature, there is still a rather big difference between the international advanced level and ours in terms of the means and depth of schedule control, which mainly reflects on the weak capabilities of overall grasp, incomplete consideration of influence factors, insufficient capabilities of operation and security. Therefore, our building industry needs to continuously accumulate and summarize experience during the project's operation for the purpose of enhancing the level and promoting the healthy development in this industry.The West Tower project is one of the rare high-rise building projects in the country. This article takes its main structure's construction schedule control for example, from the prospective of the construction side, adopts the relative project management knowledge like PDCA cycle to practice and study deeply the whole process schedule management of the structure construction of the West Tower project, and lays a solid foundation for the smooth progress and timely completion of the project schedule. Firstly, this article understands thoroughly the construction environment, purpose and requirements of this project, draws up the rigorous scientific construction schedule according to the specific features of this project. Secondly, it reasonably organizes the schedule implementation of the project in cooperation with all parties, and continuously checks the operation of this project by the means of collecting, analyzing and comparing a wide range of construction progress data and establishing a dynamic monitoring mode. Thirdly, on the basis of checking and analyzing this program, it makes a reasonable optimal treatment for this schedule for the purpose of meeting schedule and saving cost. Lastly, it evaluates the effects of the schedule management and summarizes experience from the control of this project program.
