Linear step motor is a kind of special electrical machine with fast response to excitation, the drive system using Linear step motor can simplify its structure, and be easier for control, with a large range of motion speed and high precision. So it's not only widely applied to position system, but also extending to other automatic systems. This thesis is about a two-phase hybrid linear step motor (HLSM) developed for device delivering in medical examine system. The research is in three aspects of the HLSM:optimization and analysis for the structure and parameters, controller design, testing system design and experiment for the machine, which construct the LSM driving system, the object of the research. The content mainly includes:1. Analysis and Selecting for the machine structure of HLSM, considering the characteristic of the machine and the application demands. The principle of motion and the air gap permeance are interpreted, and the mathematic equation of the electromagnetic force is obtained by magnetic circuit method.2. The important parameters are analyzed by finite element method, giving the corresponding optimized parameters. The possible errors on the thrust and their sources are discussed.3. The control strategy for the HLSM is analyzed, and the control circuit is designed for microstepping drive based on the special IC for step motor. Then the experiment platform is designed to test the characteristics of HLSM.
