As a newly arisen energy storage element, super-capacitor has many advantages, such as high power density, fast charge and discharge, long cycle life, environmental protection and so on. Energy storage by super-capacitors is an important form of energy storage and control in power system, especially in micro-grid.When super-capacitors are connected in series parallel, the voltage of every cell would be imbalanced because of parameters inconsistency of single super-capacitor, and even cause some cells damaged by over-voltage. In this paper, the super-capacitors inspection system is designed and implemented to monitor the operation state of super-capacitors energy storage device, calculate the remaining state of charge and achieve its role in the regulation of micro-grid.In the opening of this paper, the basic functions of the super-capacitors inspection system are defined and the overall scheme is designed according to the characteristics and control needs of the super-capacitors energy storage. Then, based on the scheme, the hardware platform is designed and implemented, including the data acquisition module, the PWM control module, the LCD display module and the distributed communication interface circuit. With the computer program, the A/D conversion program, the PWM control function, the LCD display function, the distributed communication program and the voltage balancing program are also realized. Finally, the designed inspection system is tested and analyzed. The results show that the designed circuits of the system are reasonable and the software codes are correct. Besides, the system has high accuracy and intuitive operation state of super-capacitors and realizes good man-machine interface. So the accuracy and effectiveness of the system design is testified.
