With western development, Xinjiang Railway has entered a rapid development period. However, on a rather long mileage with more than six thousand kilometers of railway lines in Xinjiang, over eight level wind is blowing the entire year, which even reaches highest wind of 64m/s sometimes. As the strong wind causes the standing vehicle slipping, traffic accidents may happen. In order to prevent wagon running away, more hand brakes are needed to be screwed down by hand. Thus, labor intensity is overwhelmed. Meanwhile, with the railway electrification, high gates-position hand brakes are not allowed to be used. Consequently, the anti-slip of standing vehicles in the wind field has become one of the most important issues to be solved in the Urumqi Railway Bureau.The condition of forces acting on the standing vehicles in the wind field was analyzed comprehensively in this paper. Force model of the vehicle under the wind was established and the main reason for runaway vehicle in the wind field was obtained.Strength analysis for iron shoes, stoppers and hand brakes was done using three-dimensional modelling software Pro/E and the finite element analysis software Ansys. The reliability of anti-slip device was improved by adjusting the structural strength affluent parts and mending the weak links. The new anti-slip devices, such as iron shoes, stopper and nut-type hand brake withstanding greater thrust, were developed. And anti-running vehicle countermeasures for vehicles standing in the station across the wind field. For example, the anti-slip response for a train constituting 50 empty gondola cars is that:When it reaches 10 to 11 level, a pair of iron shoes and its stoppers are needed to be placed against the direction of the wind under the wheel of the first vehicles and 2 hand brakes are needed to be tightened besides the above measures and so on. The new anti-slip devices have the following specialties:one, significantly reducing the workload of tightening hand brake and improving the efficiency of anti-slip; on the other hand, increasing safety for electrification operation in the wind zone.The work is carried out for the wind conditon in Xinjiang railway, but the results has important reference value for the platrau, the coastal wind field railway.
