As the acceleration of the integration of urban and rural areas, urban and rural areas gradually blurred boundaries, both inside and outside urban road system are intertwined, the boundaries of highway and city roads approached fuzzy. Due to the unique traffic characteristics in urban and rural regional development, whether the traditional highway network planning methods or urban roads network planning methods can not meet the requirements of development of integrated urban and rural roads. Based on those background, the methods of road network planning in the setting of integration of urban and rural are researched.Firstly, the urban spatial form and industrial layout of the integration of urban and rural areas is briefly described, the characteristics and problems of traffic in urban and rural areas are analyzed in detail, based on this proposed road functional classification in the setting of integration of urban and rural.Second, based on the analysis of relevant factors which effect the traffic demand forecasting of urban and rural areas, constructed the mode of trip generation and trip distribution in urban and rural areas, briefly discussed the mothods of mode split and traffic assignment.Combined to the study of traffic demand forecasting of urban and rural areas, proposed the methods of road network layout which combined method of urban spatial layout with method of node-importance.Then, based on the road functional classification in the setting of integration of urban and rural, the layout forms of road network and problem of road linking are researched, proposed the layout forms of the road network and specific measure of road linking.Finally, combined the development twelfth five-year-planning of urban and rural road in BaQiao, feasibility and validity of the method is analysed in practical application.
