High-speed railway technology and urban railway system propose a new requirement for traction motor drive system study. In order to carry out a more general study of traction drive system on the condition of continuous operation, it becomes a serious problem to simulate a continuous load in the laboratory. Based on the analysis of the traction motor load characteristics of inertial load and continuous load, the thesis establish the mathematical model of the traction motor from the energy point of view, the equivalent damping torque and the equivalent inertia loads has been obtained under continuous load conditions, and the traction motor circuit load changes were analyzed under certain conditions.Based on the option of load simulators the thesis designed an inertia controller that can simulate a continuous load, then obtained the theory of how to simulate a large inertia from a small one.Besides, the thesis discussed the affection of inertia time constant to load simulation.Then the thesis verified the correctness of the controller with the real vehicle inertial parameters of CRH2A.Based on DSPACE platform, the thesis built a 5.5kW load simulation platform, in accordance with the same acceleration time, the thesis completed the process of traction load simulation, load simulation experiments on given line, finally achieved the continuous simulation of traction motor load on the experimental platform. Both the simulation and experimental results show that the proposed inertia controller can simulate the real vehicle traction motor load continuous changes correctly, effectively accurately.
