With the rapid development of the economic, transportation has become a measure of the strength of a national and regional economic and also an important indicator of the level of modernization. Based on the survey data since the nineties of last century, we can see that the proportion of bridges which have already work for more than 30 years asseccs nearly to 40%. In the next few years, most of the bridges will enter into old age period, the damage and defects will be obvious.If the relevant measures are not taken at this stage, then the consequences will be disastrous.Because of the condition of bridges is commonly poor and the bridge construction is still on,the management of the bridge is not quite inadequate.All of above result that now many bridges have all kinds of defects.So in order to slove the problem,we should build a complete system to evaluate the performance of the bridge to make a effective detection and performance evaluation of the existing bridges.This article makes a deep research on the perfomance evaluation of the bridges which based on the existing safety evaluation methods. The main work is summarized as follows:(1)Discusses the purpose and siganificance of the performance evaluation of the bridges describing the current study status of home and abroad;(2)Briefly intruduces the basic theory about the accumulation fatigue damage.It provides the theory basis to solve the value of FRLR which is a index of the performance evaluation method;(3)Discusses the basic theory of fuzzy theory, focusing on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and also sets a basic framework of performance evaluation method of bridges based on fuzzy theory.(4)FRLR value is proposed as a index to evaluate the performance of bridges,setting a fuzzy comprehensive performance evaluation system based on the of AHP method and fuzzy theory.
