Space grid is one of the most widely used forms of long-span structures. It has the 3D transfer mode of force, light-weight, large rigidity, and diverse of novel sculpt that can easy to meet art creativity and so on many kinds of advantages which other structural difficult to replace. However, some space grid need to open holes in different areas because of functions of use, sculpt and so on, which caused irregular plan. Is meaningful to discuss weighted behavior of space grid with openings in the case of present study and the current design method has not clearly provisions. In this paper, FEM is adopted to analyze the static and dynamic behavior of space grid with openings. Parameter analysis on different location and size of openings affecting space grid load is carried out, based on the case study. The following content are mainly considered:1. The static behaviors of space grid with openings were conducted, got the distribution of the internal force and displacement. Compared the resluts with the space grid with no holes, and gave some advises to strengthening the stiffness and bearing capacity of the structure.2. The stability behaviors of space grid were discussed by Linear and nonlinear buckling analysis. Geometry nonlinearity and material nonlinearity are considered. The parameters different location and size of openings affecting space grid static stability load is analyzed.3. The vibration natural frequency of space grid with openings is studied by modal analysis. Modal frequencies and modal participating rule is obtained. Parameter analysis of different location and size of openings affecting space grid disengaged vibration is done.4. Seismic response analysis is done by using spectrum analysis method and time history analysis method for space grid. The displacement and the axial forces of the structure under the seismic response are obtained and the results of space grid with openings are no opengings are compared. Parameter analysis of different location and size of openings affecting space grid seismic capacity is done.
