Tower crane is widely used in the construction industry,but also a kind of construction equipment which is the most sensitive to earthquake,after Wenchuan earthquake,the people extremely concern aseismicity of such equipment,it is also must considered about contradiction between massive rebuilding and frequent earthquake.Based on this, applying ANSYS finite element analysis software,the paper studied seismic response of the Xi'an area's tower crane based on the actual construction, and abtain several aspects'research achievements as follows:(1) Application of ANSYS software, a more detailed finite element model of tower crane and its attachment object is established,which has laid a solid model foundation for simulation;(2)When attachment tower is checked by two ways of dynamic and static, its danger point is different because of impact of buildings,but independent tower is not.Therefore,we can come to the conclusion that aseismicity design of independent tower is appropriate by equivalent static checking which has the introduction of magnification factor but the vulnerable points of attachment tower only can be found by dynamic checking, in more cases, people ignore the dynamic calibration links of the tower crane, for this reason that attchment tower more easily collapse than independent tower during the earthquake.(3)In general, attachment tower crane best attach to buildings'short axis;(4) In the earthquake emergencies, if the epicenter direction is known, then tower crane should point to the epicenter, or make it point to opposite direction, thus, smaller force will be applied to tower crane so that minimize casualties, this is only possible emergency plan under such incidents.(5)ANSYS is re-developed by application of APDL language and user interface design language UIDL. The professional module of tower crane is added in ANSYS'classical module and realizes parameterized modeling of tower crane which has user interface and the localization of the module.
