The simulation using the virtual prototype technology based on the five-degree freedom AMB device is studied. The mathematical model of the AMB system including the system structure and parameters, the transfer function of displacement sensor, PID controller and power amplifier is the foundation of the simulation study.The magnetic field distribution and the intensity distribution in the axial and radial electromagnetic field are analyzed by using ANSOFT Maxwell/2D respectively. The axial and radial nonlinear electric magnetic expression formula is deduced according to the simulation data, the mathematical model of the AMB is established more accurately.The virtual prototype model of the AMB is established by ADAMS and MATLAB/Simulink. The alternant simulation of the mechanical and control system model has been carried through the ADAMS and the MATLAB/Simulink model. The 1-DOF and 2-DOF static levitation is realized in the virtual environment. The simulation results show the correctness and feasibility of the alternant simulation to simulate realistic experiment. All the studies provide a method for the design of AMB system by using virtual prototype technology.
