Study About The Traditional Residential Buildings In The Eastern Area Of Zhejiang Province

The special natural environment, cultural environment, regional economy, social development, reform and background make a locally special residential buildings. The geography, weather, economy and culture varied in the eastern area of Zhejiang province created the distinctly different regional characteristics in the traditional residential buildings. According to the local weather, geographic attribute, agriculture and byproduct, and economic condition, the traditional residential buildings in the three different physical geography subregions (water country and plain, mountainous area, Coastal areas and island) in the area have evidently local characteristics in plane layout, building configuration, space treatment, material application and technical management, and hold high-level construction technologies.Through plenty of on-site investigations and surveys to collect relevant literature and informationin the paper, the formation background, space distribution, building configuration, technical treatment, protection and application of the traditional residential buildings in the eastern area of Zhejiang province have been systematically analyzed and studied, in order to grasp in the whole the evolvement rule of formation and development of the traditional residential buildings. The article explores the active value of these buildings, which actively adapted to and kept harmony with the local environment in the tribal layout and construction, and gives some advice for the protection and application of these buildings, and indicates a new route for the sustainable development of currently construction of human habitation environment.
