Research And Development Of Small Satellite Device Simulators

Because of the development cycle and the financial constraint reasons, some of the key components can not be used in the semi-physical simulation test system. Through the design of these parts of the device simulator, with its introduction of closed-loop instead of the real device is a practical and effective engineering method. Current the way has been widely used at home and abroad. The device simulators can simulate the functions and characteristics of external electrical interfaces of the key components.They not only can reduce the risk of system operation, simulate extreme state of system operation, but also verify the system design early.Based on modular design ideas and a certain type of small satellites simulation test platform requirements, small satellite device simulators'hardware and software design has been completed. Small satellite device simulators include a flywheel simulator, GPS simulator, gyro component simulator, star sensor simulators, propulsion system simulator, and other device simulator.They can simulate the small satellite attitude and orbit control subsystem, remote sensing and control subsystem, thermal control subsystem and other normal and fault states.Among them, the flywheel simulator is the core simulation device in the attitude and orbit control subsystem, four DSP chips have been used as core processing unit, receiving instruction parameters and fault injection, running flywheel mathematical model, exports flywheel speed pulse and direction signals; the telemetry and remote control simulator which has two work modes uses FPGA as the core processing unit.It can not only simulate the small satellite telemetry stream, but also simulate the ground control terminal remote control stream, for small satellites remote sensing and control subsystem functional testing. Some of the simulators is designed to same board type to shorten development cycle and increase simulators versatility and reliability.Currently, small satellite device simulators have been accomplished and the experimental results show that the technical performance has met all the design requirements.
