In power systems, distribution systems are the closest part to customers. The reliability of distribution systems is very important to industrial production and daily life. The distribution automation system can find the fault location in time and correctly, isolate the fault quickly and restore the power supply when there is fault in a distribution network.The paper is focus on the restoration mathematical model object to the least outage cost under the situation of simple distribution automation, and the fast restoration algorithm based on restoration trees.The restoration mathematical model is object to the least outage cost, in the constraint conditions of network connectivity, radial network structure, feeder none-overloading, and the bus voltages in the given limits, under the environments of simple distribution automation.A simple distribution automation system is that when distribution systems are rebuilt, only a small part of circuit breakers are replaced by automatic circuit breakers. The automatic circuit breakers depart the feeder into some areas. When a fault happened on the feeder, the automatic circuit breakers isolate the area where the fault located, and restore the other normal areas promptly, while the faulted area service restoration is competed by the manual-controlled circuit breakers. Under the situation of simple distribution automation, the restoration plan includes the time for the operators to reach the manual-controlled circuit breakers, operate order of the circuit breakers, the dispatch of the operators, the match of manual-controlled and the automatic circuit breakers.The restoration algorithm based on restoration tree is fast, universal, and is proper to the complicate distribution systems.
