Since"The Regulations for the Administration of Energy Conservation in Civil Buildings"has promulgated by the government, China's application on energy efficiency of building has made many substantive progress, which moved from ideas toward practices, and becomes the important government action to construct the resource-saving and the environment-friendly society.The energy efficiency of existing building(EEEB) in northern area of our country has emerged early, but that in Chongqing is late. Chongqing is located in hot summer and cold winter region, and the formerly building was designed without external thermal insulation system, thus air conditioning is frequently used resulting in the excessive waste of energy consumption.Nowadays,"Livable Chongqing"proposition and"Liangjiang New District"establishment will attract more people to come Chongqing to develop and to settle down, will also enlarge the demands of living energy consumption. The application of EEEB in Chongqing will not only save the massive living energy consumption, provide the comfortable environment for residenter, but also exert a very important significance.This study takes people-village community's renovated building in Chongqing Yuzhong District as the object. Firstly, we carried field investigation to the present situation of community's construction, detected thermal performance of selected typical building envelopes, diagnosed the existing problem of this kind of buildings, in which the thermal performance of roof and exterior window was extremely weak. And then, we calculated the annual energy consumption of typical building to satisfy the hot environmental standard by using the energy consumption analysis software. As a result, the energy consumption of typical building was higher by 30% compared to that of reference building with 50% energy efficiency, taking the energy consumption proportion of top layer room as biggest.Then this study analyses the compatibility of the applied energy efficiency technical for existing building, propose the plan for specific energy efficient retrofit. We reasoned the retrofit plan and compared the energy consumption by energy consumption analysis software, performed the simulation analysis to the internal heat environment's effect, discussed the function of the building outside wall's sun-proof and indoor natural ventilation. Finally, considering the several aspects of existing buildings in Chongqing region, including the external thermal insulation measure, energy efficiency window choosing, external sun-shading construction and indoor natural ventilation improvement, this research advances the techniques and measures of energy efficiency of existing building suited to Chongqing region.
