Compared with increasing inherent reliability, improving the level of vehicle maintenance is an important way to ensure reliability. In the GBT 12678-1990 "Reliability running test method for automobiles ", maintainability evaluation and analysis is provided as a very important content of result analysis of reliability test. With a large number of high-tech products applying in automotive, the current maintenance methods and tools no longer meet the requirements, so scientific theories are on the urgent need to improve the level of maintenance. The theory of maintainability evaluation an analysis is still at the exploratory stage in China. For enhancing the reliability of vehicle, it is an urgent need to establish a theoretical system to promote development of methods and tools, which is fully characterized by the automotive industry.The paper researches on vehicle reliability driving test methods and test data characteristics, combined with domestic and international evaluation and analysis theories relate to maintenance, then put forward a suitable vehicle maintenance evaluation indicators and their evaluation methods to achieve the quantification of qualitative indicators, which lay a theoretical foundation for building a vehicle maintenance test and evaluation software system.Papers design database and build the structure of software systems based on data needs and functional requirements. Otherwise, the paper develops the vehicle maintenance test and evaluation system, which is C/S mode, and Studies the system implementation of the key technologies. In a word, the paper has not only built the theoretical methods of vehicle maintenance test and evaluation system based on the GBT 12678-1990 " Reliability running test method for automobiles", but also realized the vehicle test and evaluation of automation. It has practical value in engineering that enhance the reliability of the process of vehicle operation.
