AS the locomotive speed is on the rise, the quality of the power is required to improve. The power supply panel of railway signal provides the power for railway signaling equipment, so the quality of power directly affects the normal operation of the power supply panel. However, due to some railway stations are located in a remote region, the poor power supply results in abnormal work of the power supply panel, which affects the normal operation of the railway. In order to improve the reliability of the power supply panel, the quality of input power needs real-time monitoring. when the input power quality is not satisfied with the requirement of the power supply panel, the alarm and solution should generate to prevent accidents. The waveform of abnormal input voltage and current may be stored for the analysis of cause of the accident. A monitoring system was developed to implement their function in this paper.The background and the development of the monitoring system were introduced firstly. The parameters which are used in the monitoring system are described in detail. Samsung S3C2440A was used as the core set of the monitoring system. The function of monitoring, display, alarm, communication and data storage are integrated in. A dedicated energy metering IC ATT7022C was used for the part of the power parameters acquisition, which not only simplifyed the circuit design but also reduced the complexity of the program and improved the stability of the system. RS-485 was used in the system which can easily communicate with the host computer and upload data in time. ARM was used to construct the embedded Linux Systems, which made the monitor system excellent in human-computer interaction and simply operated for the user.The program which redisplayed the history of the power net wave and the various index of power quality on the computer for viewing historical data was proposed finally.
