According to the incident data from 2004 to 2007 in Beijing, approximately 1/3 of the accidents occurred in the intersection,1/3 of the passengers injured in the accident at the intersection. The safety of the intersection shows directly related to the safety and the efficiency overall network in the city.Level of service of safety (i.e. LOSS) research the intersection, is a measure of the safety of the transport facilities and the quality of the services provided for the driver and passengers. LOSS is closely related to the traffic volume, vehicle composition, traffic violations, traffic conflicts, road conditions and other factors. As an urban road network's node, the intersection is the throat of the urban road traffic system. Therefore, the research of urban signalized intersection's LOSS has significant practical to improve the safety of the city road network.Paper analysis the behavior and traffic violations of vehicles, bicycles and pedestrian in the urban signalized intersection, and establish a comprehensive violation rate model; by analyzing the conflict of vehicles, bicycles and pedestrian in urban signalized intersections, taking the traffic volume, vehicle composition and some other factors into account, the paper establish an integrated model of the conflict rate.Based on these two models, the paper gets various factors related to the safety of urban signalized intersection into regression analysis, and defined a parameter S to quantify describe the safety of the intersection. Finally, the paper set LOSS model of unban signalized intersection.The model divided the safety of the intersection into four levels:LOSSâ… , LOSSâ…¡, LOSSâ…¢and LOSSâ…£. According the LOSS level of the intersection, the traffic safety improvement level of the intersection could be told.
