This research is based on the national natural science foundation of China and mainly studies the drive principle, stable design and processing method of noncircular bevel gear. Furthermore, correctness and feasibility are also discussed. Noncircular bevel gear is a new and special form of gear transmission. One can realize the variable transmission ratio motion and power transmission between intersecting axes. It is widely used in construction machinery, aerospace, marine, automotive and variable gear pump.Oval bevel gear which contains high-order, denaturation and eccentric as a new gear transmission of noncircular bevel gear was proposed. Oval bevel gear is one of the most typical transmissions type in noncircular bevel gear. Aiming at the various type of denatured oval gear, the research can be launched as follow.Based on the theory of spatial engagement and formation theory of conjugate profiles, a new and universal parameter design method was proposed. The gear profile can be obtained with the generating movement between gear and cutter according to the transformation matrix of pure rolling between their pitch curves. Meanwhile, the transmission ratio, pitch curve, addendum and dedendum curve, module, tooth number and other basic parameters are designed and analyzed. The generating cutting program is compiled based on secondary development of 3D software, the method and principle of parameters in this program are analyzed. Then the physical model of various denatured oval gear can be obtained. The connection between eccentricity, exponent number of driving gear, exponent number ratio, initial input angular velocity, etc and the change characteristics of transmission ratio, angle, acceleration of driven gear. The kinematics references in the parametric design of oval bevel gear were obtained after the movement regularity influenced by influence factor was revealed. The natural frequency of oval bevel gear can be obtained by the use of finite element analysis software. The relationship between natural frequency and gear's exponent number and eccentricity was analyzed. The 5-axis CNC manufacturing thoery and coordinate transform method were also investigated based on the parameter design and kinematic research of oval bevel gear. The 5-axis CNC manufacturing theory is absolutely correct through the comparison of prototype workpiece and solid model. To oval bevel gearing of high-order, experimental bench was build, rolling check and interrelated experiment about transmission ratio has been performed with variable load and constant speed, or variable rotating speed and constant load. The generating cutting method, program and 5-axis CNC manufacturing theory were verified true based on the comparison of experiment result and theoretical one. In this paper, the design, manufacture, analysis and experiment of noncircular bevel gear provided the application and popularization of this kind of gear with basic theory and experimental reference.
