In recent years, with development of social and economic, The electric bicycles are increasingly popular with people for the advantages of light energy saving, moderate speed and so on. However, with the popularity of electric bicycles, in the course of, it has also exposed many shortcomings, Such as short travel distance, long charging time, slow additional power and so on. These shortcomings bring a certain extent inconvenience to people’s travel. To solve the above shortcomings, this paper designed a smart rapid charging station designed for fast charging of electric bike. The fast charging stations used high-current positive and negative pulse charging method. It is not only achieve a true sense of fast charging of the battery of electric bicycle, but also will not cause damage to the battery in the charging process. Meet the requirements of the fast charge. The contents of the paper is listed as follows:(1) The characteristics of lead-acid batteries and their charging and discharging law was analysed, A variety of existing lead-acid battery charging methods were compared. On this basis, Combined with the requirements of fast charging stations in the actual process of charging, The best charging solution was determined,the optimal output waveform and parameters of fast charging stations were given.(2) Design a previous power supply of rapid charging station. The power supply uses a two-transistor forward DC / DC converter circuit. And its form of output is constant current-limiting pressure. In the design process, the related parameters of the EMI filter, the power rectifier and filter circuit, high-frequency transformer circuits were calculated. The feedback circuit of the power and the control circuit were given.(3) Management system of rapid charging and discharging of the charging station was designed based on a single chip microcomputer PIC16F873. Including auxiliary power supply driver circuit and control circuit. Program of microcomputer was compiled in C programming language.In the laboratory, A prototype of the fast charging station was set up. the prototype applies to charging of 36V and 48V lead-acid battery. Carried out the charging experiment for 36V10AH lead-acid batteries using the prototype. experimental waveforms were obtained. The experiments and applications show that the designed fast charging station reach the design goals.
