Research On General Design Of Space - Oriented Identification System For Entrance And Exit Of Subway Station

This dissertation tries to study the content of sign system and universal design through the theory of wayfinding. Based on the international and domestic cases, I show several suggestions point at the current condition which is Xi’an subway’s entrances sign system. It aims to make person success finding way in the sign system universal environment of subway entrance. In the research of wayfinding at subway entrances, the significance of this thesis is the contribution to the development of the theory of universal design and sign system and value of reference. Also it bring practical benefit to construct more accessible city sign system, maximize the satisfaction of different need, and build public participation and sharing sign system using environment.This dissertation combed the relationships between the factors of affecting wayfinding, sign systems and wayfinding. It summarized the wayfinding behavior, sign systems and cognitive of various types of the crowd to wayfinding environment which under the environmental characteristics of the subway entrance, According to Xi’an wayfinding environment questionnaire statistical conclusions which targeted at the normal individuals and the visually handicapped person. As well as the results of the survey which is the sign systems’environment of Xi’an subway Bei Dajie station. After that, I would give my detailed design features for setting the height, position, color, pattern, text, and lighting. Introduction section describes how to find the subway entrance pathfinding problems and select it as a reason for the research object, the paper briefly describes the content, purpose and methods. The second chapter is the core of the paper support the theory, first introduced to the emergence of wayfinding study of factors affecting wayfinding and orientation from the factors that lead to the identity of wayfinding wayfinding importance of design, while describes research in wayfinding Universal Design applications. The third chapter introduces the characteristics of the subway entrance space environment and its oriented identification systems, wayfinding followed people on the subway entrance space environment pathfinding cognitive characteristics to analyze the spatial orientation domestic subway station entrances and exits again universal identification system designed to compare the status quo.
