Nowadays, casing containment design technology is one of the most important technologies in the aero-engine field. Especially, the double-layer casing is becoming more and more popular. So, it is promising to do some research of the double metal casing.In this paper, the impact resistance of the double-layer metal casing was discussed at first. According to the numerical simulations, the results show that the thickness distribution ratio and the interlayer spacing have huge effect in the containment. The containment capability of double-layer metal casing is better than the single-layer casing. The smaller thickness distribution ratio is, the greater impact resistance is. The reason is the outer layer may absorb more energy than the inner layer. In addition to above these, the law of the interlayer spacing is disordered. Then, the composites casing use the form of composite laminates. The 5mm, 15mm, 25mm layer model was established. The simulation results show that if the thickness of the composite layer is increasing, the impact resistance will become stronger.Three containment criteria are assessed. Based on the plastic dynamic, the process of the impact is analyzed and derived. Then through the numerical simulation establish a new of double-layer containment. The remainder speed, maximum deflection of layer, energy changes and so on are all considered. The calculate results have a good comparison with the simulation. This is a new attempt, and hoping to have a little assistance in future.
